Lomonosov’s Heritage Exampled by One House of Culture

Mikhailo Lomonosov is the icon of the North. He is a scientist, an inventor, an innovator, a pioneer in his field, a handyman. Houses (Palaces) of Culture were an Utopian Soviet project, club establishments, centers for mass culture work and educational work. Lecture performance is a new kind of contemporary art, which became popular at the turn of the 2010s and which plays with the traditional context of academic presentations. The research made earlier in the House of Culture “Lomonosovsky” (Nikitova str, 1, district Varavino-Factoriya, established in 1978) had a purpose, on one hand, to study the phenomenon of Houses of Culture through the history of the selected House, to collect audio and visual materials, to take interviews from cultural workers. On another hand, it was important to connect Lomonosov House of Culture to Lomonosov’s achievements, since without him any cultural enlightening in the House would not happen.
